i t has been a while since i have written. this weekend i went to the island sylt. it was very pretty. we layed out on the beach and tanned and swam in the water. the wter is very much like an ocean you would find in california, just a little colder, but it was sehr fun! while on the island we had bikes so we went biking everywhere. it was difficult because you always seemed to be traveling uphill and into the wind! haha. I did go on the best ride ever! the first day i went out on a ride and we rode to the city and then off to see the cliffs. on our way back we rode along a road that was surrounded by water on both sides. it was about an hour long ride and it was the prettiest thing ever. it was a hard ride but it was great!
i only have ten days left. i am excited for classes to be over, but not for the leaving Germany part. the weather has been off and on. this week it is rainy, but the last few weeks it has been a pleasent temperature with sun.

Church and my experiences with the Police!
on sudnay me and a girl named hadley decided that we were going to set out and find the church. So the location of this church is not on any map that we have, but we had general directions so we set off in the direction that we needed to go. So we were riding our bikes, and we just kept riding until we were totally out of the city. This is when we started to doubt our directions and made a turn off the road onto another road, well, this road took as no where pretty quickly. I asked an old woman how to get to Kieler Weg (the street in which I needed to get to) and i think she thought i was asking for the way to kiel, so she was no help. Then i asked an old man, and he again did not know. So at this point we were getting pretty discouraged, but continued on our way. Well. we saw a sign that seemed to point in the right direction, so we followed the sign, but it was weird cause we were kinda on the highway but not really. well apparently we were not suppose to ride on this street because the cops stop and started to yell at us! in german! so we conveyed that we didnt speak german very well and that we didnt know and then they pointed us in the direction of the bike path! hahaa. so then we are riding along the bike path and it just keeps going and then we run into a very cute old couple. I then stop to ask them if they know the street! and they did! we of course were heading the wrong direction, but we got the directions for the way. well this couple was very cute, and they seemed to want us to stay and talk with them cause they kept asking us questions, but we left and were able to find the church! it was great. we were a half hour late so we missed the sacrament. We got into church in the middle of a talk and both could not understand anything! haha. after sacrament we talked to the missionaries! there were two elders and two sisters and then one couple that works at the institute at the university! yeah so there is an institute and there are a number of young adults! i think i am going to go to their activities! they all seemed very nice. the missionaries were really nice, they also laughed at us for getting lost and a little wet! haha.
Lübeck and Berlin in One weekend!
This weekend i went to Lübeck. actually all of the students went to Lübeck. it is an awesome little town and we walked around and saw a few churches and different place. i went to the maryipan factory, in which the city is famous for, and yes i did buy marzipan! it was great. Then on saturaday i took a 5 hour train down to berlin! it was great, well berlin was great, not the train. It was me and 6 other students and one of the guest family dads. He was awesome cause he knew all about berlin and where to take us. So yeah we went around berlin and saw parts of the wall and saw check point charlie, which is where you had to go t ocross the wall. We saw a lot of really cool stuff it was very fun. then we had to take the train back out of the city that night. we got this deal where we only had to pay 7 euro for the train, but we had to us it there and back in the same day. So we went to a train station thinking it would be better to go to that one cause then we could get a better seat, but when we got there we found out that our train does not stop at the train station. So we then had to take 2 differnt subway type trains back to the main train station and we only had 13 minutes to do so.! crazy! so when we finally get to the main train station we only have like 30 seconds and we have to go down 4 flights of stairs and around corners and such. so We were sprinting around the train station and got the our train and got intoour train right as it was taking off! we were very lucky.

my bike!
i bought a new bike! well a new very used loved bike. it is red and it rocks! i bought it at a flee market in town. the best part is, i got it for only 10 euros! what a great deal. it has three different speeds. biking around here is oh so easy. there really are no hills and it is basically at sea level and i am used to biking in utah with hills and all, so it is great and way easy. i can get places so fast! and stay in shape! sweet!
well classes started today. i wish i didnt have to attend school, but that is just how this study abroad works i guess. my classes dont seem that back, just a lot of reading and writing, but no arithmatic!
well. kiel rocks.

Kiel
so i made it to kiel! party! it is awesome up here. i am staying in the dorms. i have my own room and my own bathroom which rocks. there are 13 of us staying in the dorms and we are all on the same floor so we all have fun together.
yesterday i took a train from frankfurt to kiel and then had to find my way to the international center at the university. so i got off the train and then just jumped on a bus and i was lucky cause it just magically took me to where i needed to go! it was great. so i made it all safe and sound.
so today we met with other german students and they took us around town and showed us good places to shop and other stuff. so there are 4 H&Ms in this town! :D
wel that is about it for the excitement for now. oh i am just two blocks away from the harbor! also i was going to buy a bike, but they are all expensive, looks like the bus for me! haha. but walking here is really easy as well.
anywhoot. that is my life.

Ulm
today we went to Ulm. It is the city in which Einstein was born! In this city the tallest Cathedral in the world can be found. It isn't too hard to see it!haha. So we went to this Cathedral. It is so very tall. We climbed hundreds of stairs to the very top of the Cathedral! It was so cool. Also very scarey if you looked directly down! From the Top of the Cathedral we heard the bells ring. It was fun. So then we hurried back down the steps and we were able to hear the end of a organ concert held inside the cathedral. All of the stairs we climbed up were almost like a completely separate thing from the normal cathedral part. It was very fun.
Then we walked over to the Danohe River. Along the river there was a festival going on. It was very fun and lively. Then we drive to a place, which I am not sure of the name at present. I think it is bluetop, or something similar. Well this is a place where a river starts. The water just comes up from the ground. THere is so much water and it is so so blue. it was really pretty.

Göppingen
So yesterday we left Elke's and now we are stayin in a little town near Göppingen. We are staying with Elizabet and her Mann Huntz. Göppingen is the city in which my Grandfather was born and raised. Today we were able to walk about the city. It is larger than I imagined. I have found that most of the cities here are larger than I imagined. All the cities are packed with people and shops and they are all so buzy. It is such a change from Utah, in which SLC is practically dead. hm.
Well today we hiked up a smallish mountain. It had the best view from the top. We have a 360 degree view of all the surrounding cities. My Papa said that it was a mountian he would climb every sunday after church. Pretty amaying experience. Then it started to rain, more like poor, and so we sat inside for a while. Then we explored Göppingen. I saw the schools, playplaces, and churches that my grandpa went to as a child.

confusion
i am so confused. my blog is now telling me it is june again! have i figured out a way to travel back in time?
Stuttgart
so yesterday was our last day at Eliyabeth and Hanz's. Papa went to visit old friends and me and my dad went to Stuttgart with some friends and went to the mecedes museum. It was interesting. Then we went to this shop where they make mini trains. it was fun cause my dad has some of these trains that he got from his grandpa when he was little. I like to play with them. But yeah. it was very interesting to see and fun to watch the trains of the different tracks they set up.
So today we left Elizabeths and we drove to Bretten and walked around and climbed up an old guard tower. It was also used as a prison. We actually had to ger the key from an information building in the city and so we were the only ones in the tower. it was cool. We also went to an old monestary and walked around and listen to some organ. The organist wasn't very good, but he did play some Bach! Anywhoot.
Thanks for reading about my adventures.

Heidelburg
Today we went to Heidelburg. It is a reallly beautiful city just on the the Necker River. We walked around town and then went to see the Heidelburg castel. It was a very neat old castel. Most of it has been destroyed in fighting from the 1600s, but it has been well preseved and we were able to walk around. inside the castle is the largest wine keg ever! it is huge. we walked on top of it. We think it is probably 16 feet wide and like 30 long! it is huge!
Yesterday was way hot! we went to a swim park on the Rhein. it was very fun, I got to see very old fat gross men in spedoos, and very old fat gross women with no tops on! haha. but it was a fun day. ah the joys of germany!

Baden Baden
So today we went to Baden Baden. It was fun. It is like the old roman bath houses. So there were 5 different pools. there were 3 inside and 2 outside. each bath was a different temperature and they all had jets. it was very fun and relaxing. I am very tired now though because of the sun and hot water. My body is very relaxed though. It was fun and I enjoyed it very much.!
